Day 3 Wed June 9 Day to Relax

OUR BELOVED LAKE ERIE ISLANDS

Weird weather patterns did not allow us the luxury of planning ahead. Nothing much on the radar, but as soon as we decide to leave the boat, it rains...then we see the sun peek out, and then sprinkles come again. All in a moment of time. Oh well, so we get wet.
We went to the lap pool to exercise and found it under construction. Actually, they were taking the winter roof and walls down for the season. So, off I went cycling instead. Took the camera to see what I might find of interest. Snakes, birds, Gini Cahill???  Yes, she's on the island "working" for the bikers (as in motorcycle) rendezvous. She has a great management job which includes overseeing staff selling liquor to different restaurants and bars...and of course she gets involved in a bunch of fun events like this week at The bay with Captain Morgan Rum.

I try to stay out long enough that Ron has the boat washed when I return. :0)

We've already had our lesson of the day: Skype. We are researching it's use so that I can talk to a couple of lighting clients, as well as my Mom and Sister.
We research our Ports Guide and decide if the weather holds, we'll go to Huron Municipal Basin Thursday.

Huron is a nice big marina and park and within walking distance to the Yacht Club. At the Yacht Club, their membership average age is 82. At least that's what it was last time we visited. They were having a membership drive to get that # down some. The rule for dinner here is to grab your dessert first because they always run out. However, for tonight cooking at the boat.......
We found a nice rib eye at the local grocery to put on the grill. To top it off, salad, and the local bakery made me a nice loaf of multi grain bread to go with dinner. I just had to hang around for them to bake it (10 mins)...so, off I went on my bicycle for another short spin around the park.

Ron got some more fishing in from the back of Goose. I laughed so hard when he caught a small mouth bass and it peed on him. I did not know that fish peed. Where's the camera when you really need it?  Did catch the sunbathing snakes protected by islanders.

We had a great view to watch and laugh about all of the people going by that had one too many alcoholic beverages in town. Better to watch people walking by with buckets on their heads than to wake up with one on your own head. Of course you have to have been to The Round House to understand this.

  3. Hey Ron & Patti! Great to hear from you! Thanks for including me in your list of blogger friends! I'm so glad to hear that you are now "officially" retired and enjoying the good life - on your boat, of course! Where else would you be. I guess "Too Much Fun in the Sun" adventures is finally under way now! I'll check back to your site from time to time to see how your trip is going. Keep in touch!
