Day 13 Sat 6-19 Short Trip to Major Sunsets

Not knowing when we had to be out of the guest dock at Buffalo Yacht Club, we took off early and back tracked to  Erie Basin Marina (maybe a mile or two).

The slot we had been assigned had a safety line tied across it, so we diverted into another dock at the urging of the marina regulars. We had many hands to help us dock which threw me off as I went brain dead....spring line? what's that? hhhm , I looked like it was my first time docking a boat with Captain Ron. We met the neighbors and regulars of this dock line and turns out some of them are related and we had arrived on a day when the family was enjoying out of town relations.

The day moved along slowly as we did some chores in preparation for the Erie Canal, ran to a grocery deli and settled in to watch the "fireworks". People had lined up all day in camping chairs and blankets and I thought maybe we had stumbled upon a parade, or fireworks ??

Turns out the show was from Mother Nature, and it was the sunsets.

Ron was telling me about Judy W's stories of the sunsets from her former hometown.

So, the extra pictures are dedicated to Judy.

Enjoy the photo's without all the text :)

  3. So beautiful! God's 'shows' are so much more spectacular than any man's 'fireworks'!
