Day 37 Tuesday July 13 Out of The Rain

Departed the resort and as we travel towards the next lock I finally get a "whiff" of being up north. The pine trees smell so good.

We pass many pontoon boats that people rent out in this area by the week and it is making the locking process a bit slower with the extra traffic of the houseboats and small craft boats from the nearby lakes.

It's been rainy again today, however we make it to Buckhorn Marina just in time for the major rains. We get assigned into a covered slip. It's kind of neat, but makes for a dark interior, so, we put lights on in the middle of the day.

Three locks today raises us to 574' to date. At some point further in the trip we will start to be lowered again. I get hungry for lunch after passing a seagull eating his fish catch.

We watched the blue gills swim around the bow of the boat and black squirrels run around the picnic area where Ron grills up some chicken for dinner.
I Love this picture!
